About our holidays
Started in 1996, Ski Magic is run by John and Clare, who have over 20 years of experience in the Three Valleys.
They are on hand to help with your pre-booking arrangements and in-resort questions and as an independent chalet company, you can be sure of getting a personal service during your stay in Courchevel, Meribel or La Tania.
Here are three things you can expect when choosing a Ski Magic holiday:
1) A warm welcome from our team
2) Comfortable chalets with easy access to the Three Valleys
3) An excellent value chalet holiday
We look forward to welcoming you to our Ski Magic chalets….
About Ski Magic
Ski Magic has been looking after skiers and snowboarders in La Tania and Le Praz since 1996 and remains a family-run, independent chalet operator.
Clare and John White own Ski Magic and run the business day-to-day, from the office in La Tania.
Many Ski Magic guests – and team – return year on year, something Clare & John work hard to continue.
Having met on the slopes, Clare & John did several seasons together in Méribel then settled down in Courchevel to raise their two children, who went to primary school in Le Praz and learned to ski on these famous Courchevel slopes.
When not working or skiing in La Tania and Le Praz during the busy winter season, they’re often to be found in Annecy, enjoying lake life in the summertime.
Clare, what are the three things you always recommend to Ski Magic guests?
“I think most of our regular guests will have lunch at Chalet Bouc Blanc on their bucket list. It’s such a great spot, with a huge terrace, friendly team and really good food. You can expect big portions, and it’s one of the best value mountain restaurants, so we always recommend people go there.
I’d also say that it’s worth taking a bit of time away from the slopes and enjoying a forest walk in the snow, looking at the animal tracks or just wandering around the frozen Le Praz lake. You can hire snow shoes if you’re off for a bigger walk, or just wear some grippy boots for the snow, and take some ski poles for extra stability. Oh, and a phone with plenty of battery so you can take lots of photos!
If you’re bringing younger children, I’d always recommend spending some time in the Mediatheque in the Alpinium building in Le Praz, it’s a lovely indoor spot to relax, play some games or look at picture books. Not many people know about it, so I always mention it to parents.”
John, what other things should be on a guest’s Courchevel Bucket List?
“For advanced skiers, try the Eclipse piste which goes into Le Praz from above La Tania. It was the piste created for the World Ski Championships 2023 and it’s pretty steep and fast!
You should also do a day trying to get as far as possible, over to Orelle in the 4th valley. In Val Thorens there are some quick snack lunch spots, so you can make the most of your time on the slopes.
Aside from that, you can’t come to the Three Valleys without going to the Folie Douce! It’s a legendary spot for dancing on the tables, with musicians and dancers. It has to be seen to be believed! (Just make sure you leave enough time to ski back over to Courchevel…)
Each year we take our team on a day out to Lac de la Rosière which I’d recommend for non-skiers or if you just want a day off from skiing. It’s beautiful, and you’d never know it was there when you’re whizzing around on the pistes. There’s a café down there and the crêpes are really good!”
