Chalet Loden
Chalet Loden is great for…
Groups of friends, or families with older kids looking for an easy holiday, with space to spread out and relax by the huge fireplace after a full day on the hill exploring the Three Valleys whilst your chalet hosts look after you.
Meribel in one sentence…
Good times are guaranteed in Meribel, whether you’re into ice-skating or apres-ski, tobogganing or forest walks, fancy restaurants or dancing ‘til dawn – and that’s before we talk about the legendary Three Valleys ski area, with its 600km of pistes!
Where is Chalet Loden?
About the setting
With uninterrupted views of the forests and pistes, as one of Méribel’s original chalets, Loden is easily accessible on foot from the main resort and is also close to the slopes.
It is located in a delightfully tranquil and sunny spot on the eastern side of the mountain, tucked away up a winding pathway and a short but steep driveway. Ski access is around 150m to the blue Doron run, accessed via this same track. The Doron brings you down into the Chaudanne, Méribel’s main lift hub from which you can take the lifts in the direction of Courchevel or the Belleville Valley for Saint Martin, Les Menuires or Val Thorens.
For beginner skiers, we understand a blue run might be daunting but don’t panic – alternative ways to get to the slopes are possible, just contact us in the office to ask for transport option details.

CHALET LODEN FAQs
Is Meribel good for skiing?
Meribel is one of the world’s best places to ski. It is part of the famous Three Valleys, the world’s largest ski area, and lies between the ski resorts of Courchevel to the East and Val Thorens in the West.
Meribel is well-known for being a fun ski resort for groups and families with plenty of activities and slopes for all levels of skier and snowboarder.
It is also reliable for snow conditions, as 85% of the skiing in the Three Valleys is between 1800-3230m altitude.
Meribel itself is at 1500m altitude, and comprises pretty chalets surrounded by forested mountainside.
Which ski pass do I need for Meribel or the Three Valleys?
If you are beginner skier or snowboarder, the very first lifts are usually free. You can ask your ski school instructor for more information on which pass to get.
For intermediate skiers, if you just want to ski the Meribel valley then choose a Meribel only pass. For strong intermediates and above, the Three Valleys ski pass offers you a lot more to explore. Read more on our ski pass page.
What meals are included in the catered chalet service?
A catered chalet is more than just a simple ‘half-board’ service. When you choose a Ski Magic catered ski chalet, breakfast and afternoon tea is included every day, with meals provided for you on six evenings, leaving you free to sample a local restaurant or takeaway on one evening.
