Christmas and New Year is a truly magical time to ski, with festive fun as well as fabulous skiing in the Three Valleys. The Tourist Office of Courchevel puts on various events and activities for visitors, with music, performers and free drinks in the villages.

There’s a schedule for Christmas week and New Years week available online at Courchevel Tourist Office in English, so you can find out which day Père Noël is visiting and where to find him.

Christmas in Courchevel and Meribel: key dates for Ski Magic guests

16 December: Méribel

All day until 8pm: Méribel in Lights laser show ‘All around the mirrors’

19 December: La Tania

4.30-6.30pm is apres-ski, Canadian style with maple syrup treats and free hot chocolate

21 December: Courchevel 1850

4 – 9pm: Watch the best female skiers in the world race down the illuminated Emile Allais slalom track in 1850 for the FIS World Cup. First race is at 5.45, second race is at 8.45, followed by the podium ceremony and fireworks.

21 December: Courchevel Le Praz

4.30-6pm: Visit from Père Noël and his elves.

23 December: Méribel

5-6pm: Gospel concert outside (or in the auditorium in case of bad weather)

24 December: Méribel

5.00-6.30pm: Père Noël and his elves will visit Méribel centre alongside gospel singers and a pianist who will perform Christmas carols
6.30-8.15pm: Christmas Mass at the ice rink.

24 December: Courchevel 1850

4:00pm: The elves’ snacktime
4:30pm: Christmas carols duets – The Christmas Diamonds
5:00pm: The festivities begin!

27 December: Le Praz

You’ll also see that there are some child-friendly indoor activities available in the Alpinium’s Mediateque centre, which is a lovely spot to take younger kids. Activities might include games, ceramics and mosaic sessions and even a robotics workshop.

On the slopes and around the villages, there are guided walks, and an introduction to the art of Courchevel, with visits to the various sculptures that are installed on the slopes and around the resort.

Live music is a regular feature, and there are bands playing during the week in La Tania and Courchevel.

Our fabulous team always put up real Christmas trees in the chalets and we offer bubbly as a free extra on special days!

New Year in Courchevel and Meribel

The biggest night of the season is, of course, New Year’s Eve, when guests can see fireworks on the slopes with DJs and music until the clocks strike midnight.

New Year’s week warms up with performers in the streets: on December 28th, in Courchevel Village and December 29th, Courchevel Moriond between 4-6pm.

New Year: Courchevel

On 31st December 2023 there are 4 DJs and 25 performers – full schedule in French and English is available online.

From 4:00pm – 6:00pm: DJ Live & Saxo set the stage on fire.
9:30pm: DJ Gam & Emilie’s explosive performance.
11:30pm: Mesmerizing Show by La Folie Douce.
At midnight: The Fireworks!
12:30am: The duo Gam & Ye play to the crowd.
1:00am: DJ Ye takes the late night shift.

How to see the New Year fireworks in Courchevel

For our guests looking to book for New Year 2023-2024, the transport information has yet to be released but will be available here.

Here’s what our guests enjoyed when they stayed with us in December 2023:

Fireworks on New Year’s Eve (Bus from La Tania to Le Praz – or simply walk to the Alpinium, for our Le Praz guests! – and take the free gondola up to 1850)
From 4pm music on the 1850 snowfront
Fireworks at midnight and DJ for the legendary ‘party on the piste’
Buses and the gondola are free, with extra free buses laid on.
Le Praz gondola last lift down: 00:50
Free buses from Courchevel 1850 to Le Praz and La Tania continue into the early hours: at 01:15, 01:30, 02:15, 03:00 and 04.05, 05:05 and even 05:30!

New Year: Méribel

31 December 2023 : Méribel Chaudanne

10.30pm-1.30am: Alex de Costa, France’s leading latino DJ comes to Méribel for the party on the piste at the Chaudanne!
