Christmas and New Year in Courchevel and Meribel
Christmas and New Year is a truly magical time to ski, with festive fun as well as fabulous skiing in the Three Valleys. The Tourist Offices of Courchevel and Meribel put on various events and activities for visitors, with music, performers and free drinks in the villages.

There’s a schedule for Christmas week and New Years week available online at Courchevel Tourist Office in English, so you can find out which day Père Noël is visiting and where to find him.
Christmas in Courchevel
22 December: Courchevel Village
- Head to the Tourist Office at 4pm for a free hot chocolate and to meet Père Noël and his elves.
23 December: Courchevel Moriond
- From 4pm meet Père Noël and his elves and get a free hot chocolate in Courchevel Moriond (1650)
24 December: Courchevel 1850
- From 4.00-6.00pm Enjoy a free snack on the snow front in 1850, with live music and a torchlit descent starting at 5.30 to hail the arrival of Father Christmas and his elves.
25 December: Courchevel Le Praz & La Tania
- Morning: Meet Père Noël and his elves from 10-12am for hot chocolate and free pastries. Children can also participate in a workshop to make Christmas lamps at 10.15am.
- Afternoon: From 4pm, you’ll find Santa in La Tania, then you can watch a torchlit descent at 5pm, followed by a fireworks display starting at 5.30.
- Back in Le Praz from 6pm, you can watch (or indeed join!) the Millet Ski Touring race which departs from Le Praz. What a way to earn your Christmas Dinner!
Christmas in Meribel
22 December: Free Christmas show with breakdancing Santas! 6-7.30pm at the Auditorium in Meribel Centre.
23 December: Free show: Dance and mime artists around the snow front from 4-4.45pm then live Christmas songs from 5.30-6.30pm at the Carousel, Meribel Centre, and a Christmas parade 6-6.45pm.
24 December: Face painting for children at the Village des Inuits from 1-4.30pm. In the evening, a festive parade from 5.30-6.15pm followed by a torchlit descent and fireworks from 6.15pm, and watch out for the arrival of Père Noël! From 10pm, see DJ Storm at the Downtown Bar in Meribel.
25 December: Celebrate Christmas with snowy games from 2-4.30 in the Village des Inuits. From 6-6.45 at the Chaudanne you’ll find Père Noël taking part in the torchlit descent before he heads back to the North Pole.
26 December: Ice sculptures by Nicolas from 2-4pm on the Inuit piste (you can see his sculptures there during the rest of the week. Then in the evening from 8-10pm, there’s an 80s theme night at the ice rink. 12€ per person for a pass including skates.
New Year in the Three Valleys
31 December: New Year’s Eve in Courchevel
From 4pm, concert by Ben and Belier Bleu at Aquamotion.
From 9pm, party on the piste at Courchevel 1850. Warm up by Djaayz, 10pm: DJ Mast then firewords at midnight, followed by DJ Mosimann until 01.45am.
Extra buses are put on to take people home, and the Praz and Grangettes gondolas run from 4.45pm until 00.45am for free.
31 December: New Year’s Eve in Méribel
From 6.30, torchlit descent and fireworks at the Méribel Chaudanne.
In Mottaret, the Folie Douce party kicks off on the snow front at 10.30pm until 1.30am.
Various bars around Meribel have their own New Year’s party, Le Kaila, Le Coucou, Rambler, the Clos Bernard…
