About Chalet Chu Lo Dou
Chalet Chu Lo Dou (pronounced “Shoolo Doo”) takes its name from the iconic 1970s Le Praz Hotel.
Decorated with luxurious colours and textures, and positioned in the heart of this picturesque village, this stunning and very spacious property makes a wonderful base for a group of 10-12 for a Three Valleys ski holiday.
Deep, turquoise sofas and armchairs sit under the impressive, stripped back wooden beams and are focused around the fireplace and TV, but this spacious chalet has plenty of other corner seats in which to read quietly or simply gaze at the pine forests.
This is a self-catered property, which boasts a large, well-equipped kitchen and dining room arranged around original stone walls. Read more about our self catered service.
The five bedrooms are all fabulously furnished and each has its own en-suite bathroom facilities. The bunk room is ideal for families with children, sleeping four in two sets of sturdy wooden bunks.
In the mornings, the ski lifts are just 300m away, and you can easily access Courchevel or La Tania, then head over into Meribel and the Three Valleys.
Included within the chalet is free WiFi, satellite TV, wireless speaker and various classic board games. Bed linen, towels and hairdryers are provided in all our chalets.

About the setting
Renovated to an extremely high standard, this is a beautiful property to spend a week exploring the legendary Three Valleys ski area.
A short, easy walk of around 300m takes you to the efficient Le Praz gondola which arrives directly in Courchevel 1850 in under six minutes. Alternatively, the 6-person bubble chairlift ‘Foret’ arrives near the Bouc Blanc restaurant at 2000m in La Tania, for easy access to Meribel via the Col de la Loze.
Tucked away from the main street, this splendid chalet is in the heart of the picturesque ski village of Courchevel Le Praz, just a few metres from the chic restaurants and bars for which Le Praz is renowned.

Is Courchevel good for skiing?
With its North-facing slopes and 600km of easily linked ski slopes, Courchevel is one of the world’s best places to ski. There is a huge variety of terrain, from pistes in the forest to high altitude peaks, and the lift system is extremely efficient with queues quite rare. Is Chalet Chu Lo Dou close to the village?
Chalet Chu Lo Dou is in a central part of Courchevel Le Praz, very close to the restaurants, shops and bars of this pretty village. There are lots of walks nearby and it is easy to access the main ski lifts to explore the Three Valleys. Read more about Le Praz in our resort guide.
What does the self-catered service include?
Choosing a self-catered chalet holiday gives your group the freedom to linger over a long lunch on the mountain, or go out for an evening meal in one of the excellent local restaurants, cook up a simple meal in the chalet or simply pop open a bottle of wine and tuck into some nibbles. In brief, it’s flexible.
But don’t feel you’re being left to ‘fend for yourselves’, that’s not the case. With a Ski Magic self-catered chalet, we still help with your pre-arrival organisation, ordering and delivering lift passes, booking airport transfers, adding ski hire…
We can also help by organising daily bread deliveries, or a beer/wine/soft drinks package to be ready and waiting in the chalet. Likewise, if you’d like oven ready meals on some nights, we can help you to get these delivered too.

How many guests does Chalet Chu Lo Dou sleep?
There are five bedrooms in Chalet Chu Lo Dou – four double or twin rooms plus a bunk room which sleeps four. There are 12 beds in the five bedrooms.
Where can I buy shopping and food in Le Praz?
In Courchevel Le Praz there is a good butchers which has a deli section, and they also make oven-ready take away food. We also have an excellent cheese shop. Essential supplies are available in the Presse in Le Praz, and a small supermarket is due to open for winter 2025-2026.
